Irish Pony Club News

Earlier this year, nine senior Irish Pony Club members were selected to represent the IPC at the US International Tetrathlon Exchange in North and South Carolina from July 13th to 30th.  Today, these nine tetrathletes set off on this fantastic trip from Dublin Airport.

Planning and preparation has been ongoing for many months for this international exchange.  Trials began in early February and since then the International Tetrathlon Squad have been training weekly to prepare for this experience.  Early mornings and hard work have not deterred these super athletes.  They have worked extremely hard and diligently to ensure that they are well prepared for the competition.  However, this exchange is not solely about the competition.  The nine IPC members will create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.  The US Pony Club have prepared sixteen action packed days filled with educational experiences, training opprtunities and adventure activities.

The Irish team will briefly stop in Boston today before flying into Raleigh Durham International Airport.   The Irish Pony Club would like to wish the entire team and their chaperones, John Flood and Louise Kent the very best of luck.  Have a wonderful, safe and successful trip.  We are looking forward to hearing all about the experience.
