Co Clare Camp
July 3rd kicked off this year’s camp at the Ennis Showgrounds with 42 members taking part, for several it was their first camp. Over the 5 days each of the six rides took part in a variety of activities including Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross Country, Stable Management, Trec Obstacles, Chase me Charlie on Foot and many more fun events all led by their instructors who are past pony club member themselves. Our B+ candidates were also assisting during the week and preparing for their exam later in the year. Camp also included interesting talks and demonstrations during the week. The rides competed against each other for the Best Pony Turn Out awards and Best Kept Ponies during camp. Friday night of camp was BBQ, which was a lovely evening for other family members, past members and former committee members to get together and share in memories and joys of Pony Club and of course the water fight! Saturday morning was spent preparing for D, D+ and Road Safety test, where all the members who participated were successful! Massive thanks to the Instructors, Parents who volunteered during the week and kept everyone fed and watered in the hot weather, Ennis Show Grounds and our DC for a fantastic week! Can’t wait for next year.
