Dressage is the highest expression of training where horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements. it develops obedience, flexibility and balance in the horse, and is therefore the basis for all other equestrian disciplines. The ‘Pure dressage’ competition is for teams of three/four riders of any age, who ride a Novice level test in a 60m long arena.
IRISH PONY CLUB EASTER VIRTUAL DRESSAGE COMPETITION
We are delighted to announce that we are running an Easter National virtual dressage competition for Irish Pony Club members (as part of the online Easter Show run by CGP equestrian). Entries will be open on the Irish Pony Club Its Plain Sailing page between midnight on Saturday 27th March 14th and Sunday 11th April. Videos of dressage tests should be submitted to the CGP equestrian website https://cgpequestrian.ie/ according to the instructions provided. They will be judged by Listed dressage judges who will give useful feedback which will help riders to improve in the future.
Classes are U10, U12, Junior, Intermediate & Open. Also included is the: UK PC Windsor Competition test 2020 The Pony Club Open Dressage Champs Test 2018.. This test is open to all.
The dressage tests are the Combined Training dressage tests. Members should enter the appropriate class for their age.

Irish Pony Club Dressage Team invitation to Royal Windsor Horse Show
The Dressage and Combined Training committee have made the decision to postpone this clinic until further notice.
The Irish Pony Club Dressage and Combined Training Committee are delighted to announce that they will hold a Dressage and Show Jumping Clinic on Wednesday 15th April 2020 at Tipperary Equestrian Centre.
The Area 4 Festival Dressage and Combined Training Qualifier hosted by Killinick Harriers Hunt Branch will take place on Saturday 20th July 2019.
The Ares 3 Festival Qualifier will take place on Wednesday 17th July in Ballinamona Equestrian Centre, Waterford.
The Area 9 Show Jumping, Dressage and Combined Training Festival Qualifier will take place on Saturday 13th July at Crag Caves, Castleisland, Co. Kerry.
The Area 1 Festival Dressage and Combined Training Qualifier hosted by Wicklow Hunt Branch will take place on Tuesday 9th July in Barnadown Show Jumping.
