Entry Fee €20 per class.

Sunday Sept. 19th - Kennedy’s, Rathkeale, Limerick (originally to be Ennis)

COMPETITION 1 - Starter - fences up to 1.00m. Riders must be 13 years or over on 1st January and have
attended 3 working rallies. Horse/pony over 5 years of age, open to all grades but must have experience in jumping a
1.00m course,
but ponies must be in the 148cm category.

COMPETITION 2 - Finder - fences up to 1.10m. Riders must be 14 years or over on 1st January and have
attended 3 working rallies. Horses /Pony over 5 years of age open to all grades but must have experience in jumping
a 1.10m course.
But ponies must be in the 148cm category.

COMPETITON 3 - Classic – fences up to 1.20m. Riders must be 15 years or over on 1st January and must have
taken part in the rallies. Horse/Pony over 5 years of age, open to all grades but must be capable and have experience
in jumping a 1.20m course.
But ponies must be in the 148cm category.

All competitions judged under SJI rule 238.2.2 (
i.e. in the event of equality of penalties for first place, there will be a
jump off against the clock. Other competitors are placed according to their penalties and time in the first round)

General rule for the Classic
MEMBERS WHO QUALIFY AT ONE QUALIFIER MAY GO TO THE FINAL.
Members may ride three horses in each competition at the qualifying venues; their highest place horse on the day is
the one that qualifies. If after the qualifiers a rider has more that one horse qualified they may nominate two horses to
participate in the Classic Final. Riders qualified for the classis (1.20m) may ride two horses at the Final and compete
on different horses in either the 1.0m or the 1.10m.
1.20m League - Points will be awarded at each of the qualifiers; the winner will be decided at the last qualifier.
1.10m class on the final day the top 20 with the highest points in the league qualify for the final.
1.00m class on the final day the top 20 with the highest points in the league qualify for the final.
The winner of the Classic will be awarded a Training Bursary. A 2
nd Bursary may be awarded to the winner of the
League at the discretion of the SJ Committee.

Show Jumping Classic Rules


The Show Jumping Classic competition was introduced to provide competition for Irish Pony Club members who wish to compete at a high level in Show Jumping and to encourage these members to continue participating in the Pony Club. There are 3 levels of competition and members are encouraged to take part and move up the levels as their ability and skill grow. The 3 levels are:

  • Show Jumping Classic Up to 1.20 m.
  • Finder Up to 1.10 m.
  • Starter Up to 1.00m.


Show Jumping Classic

Eligibility of Rider:
Must be 15 years or over on 1 January and must have taken part in three branch working rallies.

Eligibility of Horse/Pony:
Over 5 years of age. Open to all grades, but must be capable and have experience in jumping a 1.20 m. course. Ponies as above, but ponies must be 148cm. category.

General Rules for Classic

1. Members who qualify at one qualifier may go to the Final.

3. Riders qualified for the Classic (1.20m) may ride two horses at the Final and compete on a different horse in either the 1m. or 1.10m. at the those League Finals.
4. Riders not qualified for the Classic Final may compete in the 1m. and 1.10m. League Final.


1.20 m. League:
Points will be awarded at each of the qualifiers, the winner will be decided at the last qualifier, i.e. they do not jump at the Final. League winners will receive prizes in kind at the final.
The 1.10m. class jump on the final day, top 20 (with the highest points in the league) qualify for the final.
1. m. League
:
The 1 m. class jump on the final day, top 20 (with the highest points in the league) qualify for the final.


Points for 1 m., 1.10m. and 1.20m. Leagues:
Win 12 pts.
2 10 pts.
3 8 pts.
4 6 pts.
5 5 pts.
6 4 pts.
7 3 pts.
8 2 pts.
9 1 pt.
10 1 pt.

The Classic League (1.20m.) winner will be decided at the last qualifier.

For the Classic Finder (1.10m.) & Starter (1m.) classes double points will be awarded at the final to decide the winner.
In the event of equality of points, the winner will be the person with the highest placings over the league.
Riders do not have to jump at the final to retain their points.

Prizes:
1 m. and 1.10m. class – prizes-in-kind at final.
1.20m. class –

The winner of the Show Jumping Classic will be awarded a Training Bursary, sponsored by Irish Pony Club Shop.

A 2nd bursary may be awarded to the winner of the League at the discretion of the Show Jumping Committee. If the same competitor wins the Classic Final and League, the 2 place competitor in the League takes the 2 Bursary.

Training Bursary details may change from year to year, at the discretion of the Chairman of Show Jumping.
