About Us

"The Irish Pony Club" evolved from "The Pony Club" as founded in England in 1929.

The first branch was started here in Meath in 1933 by Mrs. Kitty Bagally and other branches followed.

We were considered to be a Branch of The Pony Club until 1958 when we became an independent entity.

From these humble beginnings we have evolved and rown into nine Areas, 61 branches and 4,500 members.

The Irish language wording for your pony club is "An Cumann Capaillini na hEireann".

Note: It is hoped to expand here on the History of the Irish Pony Club.

We would also like some photos from the past to put up here. It is unlikely that these would be in digital format and will need to be scanned in. If you send them to HQ we can scan them in and promise to return them safely. Alternatively, you can scan them into you computer and email them.
