The Irish Pony Club

This website contains lots of information about the Irish Pony Club.  There is useful information for members, parents, branch officers and anyone with an interest in our organisation.

The Irish Pony Club is a Voluntary Youth Organisation. It is the main equestrian organisation that provides training in all disciplines of equestrian activities in this Country for 
members up to the age of 23.

The Irish Pony Club endeavours to promote and encourage horsemanship and loyalty in a safe and fun atmosphere, for all its members and volunteers.


The annual subscription for 2015 will be €100 per member

Silver Spurs
The Silver Spurs is a scheme, sponsored by HSI and organised by Dressage Ireland, which aims to identify and develop talented young riders and encourage their progress by awarding training bursaries, giving direction and advice and providing a pathway to help them to develop their training and riding skills in their chosen equestrian discipline. Important Notice ~ Riding Hats

We have been informed by the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) that the EN1384 riding hat standared is has been withdrawn.  The European Commission have issued a statement withdrawing the safety standard EN 1384 as this standard alone does not provide adequate safety.
Please make sure if you buy a new hat that it has the 'PAS015' standard mark or F1163 or Snell and is Kitemarked, as the EN1384 standard alone will not be approved on IPC 2016 Tack Sheets. For further information please see:

Child Protection Course Dates

All courses to be held in HSI head office, commencing at 6:30pm. The Code of Ethics Basic Awareness Training costs €20/person and the Children's Officer Training costs €25/person.
PLEASE NOTE: The Children's Officer Course has been revised by the Irish Sports Council, this was formally a 6 hour course and has now been reduced to 3 hours. To attend this course, all participants must have completed the Basic Awareness Course beforehand.
